A property update training session has been scheduled for estate agents on the West Coast. Stakeholders and specialists in the property industry will share their knowledge on a variety of topics at this session and eCertificates issued count towards 2015 and 2016 non-verifiable Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

The cost is R50 for members and R150 for non-members and includes coffee and tea on arrival and a snack lunch.

A legal update will be presented by Henry Madeleyn of Madeleyn Attorneys, who will be covering the Sectional Title Schemes Management Act (STSMA) and the Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (CSOSA). These two Acts took effect on the 7th October and numerous changes need to be implemented in the management of sectional title schemes. There are certain requirements that community housing schemes will need to fulfil according to the CSOSA but, once explained, are not overly complicated, says Annette Evans, general manager of IEASA Western Cape.

Current property trends and updates will be presented by Evans and Margie Campbell from the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB).

The South African Pest Control Association (SAPCA) will discuss how clauses in offer to purchase contracts stand up in court – evidence and latest court case findings will be presented.

Toni Enderli, extreme swimmer and motivational speaker (as well as owning his own property company), truly believes that “anything is possible” and will be speaking on how to unlock personal and professional potential and maximising on this.

“Enderli has challenged himself to swimming the Oceans7 – a feat not for the faint-hearted”, says Evans.

To book, go to https://goo.gl/z5KgnJ and send payment confirmation to Janine@cape.ieasa.org.za by Thursday 10th November. As seating is limited, IEASA members will be given priority.

Please note: Special offer to all agents: R500 joining fee will be waived and an annual payment of R800 or R70 per month if paying monthly by debit order, if they join IEASA by the end of November.
