She is best known for her tenure at Primedia Broadcasting as the Group-Editor-In-Chief where she developed Eyewitness News into one of the country’s most trusted and respected news brands.
Under Katy’s leadership, Eyewitness News ground-breaking coverage of the Oscar Pistorius trial and she was part of the delegation to successfully apply to court to televise the court proceedings. She also hosted a nightly TV show on DSTV channel 199 which was dedicated to cover the Pistorius trial.
Over the years, Katy has interviewed several high-profile political figures including Former South African President Thabo Mbeki, Former South African President Nelson Mandela, Former South African President Kgalema Motlanhle, Former US President Bill Clinton, Former Libyan Leader Muammer Gaddaffi and, she conducted the last known interview with struggle icons Walter and Albertina Sisulu.
