The GBCSA is proud to present the final session in a series of two webinars focusing on the C40 Cities drive to Net Zero Carbon.
With Tshwane, Johannesburg, eThekwini and Cape Town currently at various stages in the policy development process, research was commissioned by the C40 SA Building Program to model the SANS 10400 XA:2020 Draft standard deemed to satisfy (dts) interventions and test the correlation with the drafted SANS 10400 XA 2020 Energy Use Intensity (EUI) values.
This webinar will be hosted by GBCSA’s Georgina Smit, in discussion with Chilu Lombe from Solid Green and Mike Munnik from the C40 SABP.
The webinar will cover modelling using the globally recognised EDGE tool, as developed by the IFC, to explore its capabilities as a potential ‘bridging’ model between prescriptive based and performance-based compliance, that can be used to demonstrate dts compliance and the EUI value for the building. (It should be noted that the EDGE tool is not yet Agrément certified.)
The research culminates in a model of what a Net Zero Carbon building in 2030 may look like.
