Office vacancy rates increased in 21 nodes, declined in 22 out of 54 surveyed by SAPOA in Q1 2025

South Africa’s office vacancy rate edged up marginally to 13.6% in Q1 2025 according to SAPOA’s latest Office Vacancy Survey. Of the 54 nodes surveyed, vacancy rates increased in 21 nodes and declined in 22, while the remaining nodes recorded no change compared to Q4 2024.

In Q1 2025, the survey included 2 773 completed office properties and 8 active developments across the 54 nodes.
