The Valuator Advisory has acquired Rode & Associates Property Consultants & Valuers with Bilaal Chand to head the company as CEO.

This acquisition reinforces TVA as a market leader in the valuation industry. Taking on the Rode & Associates name and property valuation foundations, together with integrating the experience and expertise of the TVA and Rode Property Consultants & Valuers, the renamed TVA, as Rode & Associates, will be an asset valuation company, with a BEE level 2 and RICS membership. It will offer a comprehensive service that crosses all spheres of valuations, including movable assets, such as plant and equipment, art and antiques, as-well-as business valuations and immovable assets, including listed and unlisted property companies and funds,” comments The Valuator Group’s Chairman, Gavin Commins.

The 37-plus-year legacy that Erwin Rode has given the industry will now be enhanced by strategically integrating his intellectual property into the renamed Rode & Associates. We are pleased to announce that the reins will be handed to Bilaal Chand to head the company as CEO,” comments The Valuator Group CEO, Phill Ferreira.

Bilaal Chand

Bilaal has an established reputation and brings a wealth of knowledge with him. He has been a senior manager at The Valuator Group, responsible for its African Division’s business development. He began his career in property valuations as an intern at Botswana’s First National Bank. later he became the Secretary General of the Real Estate Institute of Botswana followed by the role of Valuations and Property Appraisals Manager for Apex Properties, a position he held for eight years.

As Chairman of Rode & Associates, Erwin will continue to provide consultancy services adding value with his reputation of providing independent and insightful analysis of South Africa’s property industry. His unbiased views will form a solid base from which we will take our expertise in valuations across all asset classes and enhance the group’s horizons by including property valuations and advisory services in our investment assessments,” says Commins.

The intellectual property comprising the Rode Reports has been taken over by a separate stand-alone company, Rode Publications (Pty) Ltd. Mark Pettipher, as Publishing Director and General Manager, will oversee Rode Publications. He will work alongside the Chief Economist, Research and Publications Lead Editor, Kobus Lamprecht, to develop and expand the publication’s media offering.
