An 88.9683ha mixed vineyard and fruit farm, located in the prime “Horseshoe” area of Wellington in the Western Cape, is going to auction.
Wellington is a picturesque town in the Cape Winelands known for its fertile soul and favourable, Mediterranean climate. Nestled between the Hawequa Mountains and the Berg River, it offers a blend of natural beauty and rural charm.
Made up of separate erven, there is the option to buy separate lots or the entire farm. The blocks available offer lifestyle farming, agriculture, as well as urban development opportunities.
The improvements across all the erven include the main farmhouse which was built in early 1700s. There is also a manager’s house, 15 workers’ houses, a large store, an old mill, a workshop (old cellar), garages and a venue hall which is currently under construction.
There are four large earth dams with pump houses and an array of boreholes over all the erven including an irrigation and water network throughout the farm, ensuring plentiful access to water.
Wellington’s vibrant growing community, cultural heritage, and proximity to other notable winelands towns, like Paarl and Franschhoek, enhance its appeal as both a residential and tourist destination.
Apart from grapes, Wellington is also known for producing a variety of fruits such as citrus, peaches, and plums with a growing emphasis on sustainable and organic farming practices in the region. Farmers are increasingly adopting methods to protect the environment and to enhance the long-term productivity of the land.
Wellington is currently a prime investment area as there is limited land available in the greater Paarl area.
