Discovering Atmosphere: The journey of Africa’s youngest corporate real estate visionary

Looking back at my path with Atmosphere fills me with immense pride and a sense of longing for those early days.

My journey started in 2021 as a young, zealous individual at the age of 23, venturing into the complex realm of corporate real estate, armed only with a fierce passion for the field and a relentless drive to learn.

The principle that guided me through this adventure was simple yet profound: “Pursue your passion, and success will follow.” This belief transformed every hurdle into an opportunity and infused each day with purpose and zest.

My career trajectory was far from straightforward. It resembled a vibrant tapestry, woven with unexpected meetings, strategic choices, and priceless lessons.

Beginning my career at an investment firm laid the groundwork, enriching my comprehension of the property market and underscoring the value of meticulous analysis. Every position I held offered fresh insights, teaching me about resilience, the necessity of innovation, and the importance of adapting to the industry’s dynamic nature.

During those pivotal early years, I actively sought the company of industry luminaries, not by coincidence but through a conscious effort to be present where they were. By listening and absorbing their knowledge, I gained invaluable insights not only about the industry’s mechanics but also about leadership and navigating through an ever-evolving sector.

Atmosphere emerged amidst the global lockdown, born from identifying a market niche and seizing the opportunity to integrate technology with a novel approach to corporate real estate.

My conviction in this vision was unwavering, fuelled by a clear recognition of the industry’s craving for innovation.

If I could impart wisdom to my 20-year-old self, it would be to wholeheartedly embrace the journey ahead, to view each obstacle as a growth opportunity, and to perceive every mistake as a valuable lesson. I would encourage my younger self to aim high but stay humble, always eager to learn.

The initial phase at Atmosphere was a test of resilience. Being young in a traditionally senior-dominated field was daunting. Yet, by showcasing unmatched expertise and dedication to service, we built trust and established credibility.

Our youthful vigor, initially perceived as a hindrance, became our defining trait, attracting clients in search of innovative service. Our accomplishments, including numerous awards, are a testament to our team’s commitment and highlight Atmosphere’s growing influence in the sector.

Atmosphere evolved from a solitary venture during a lockdown to a robust team of 30, serving multiple regions. This growth exemplifies the strength of passion and determination.

We’ve cultivated a supportive and vibrant work environment, countering the industry’s traditionally high-pressure nature. With activities like hiking, team strategy walks, and social gatherings, we’ve fostered a culture that values well-being and team cohesion, recognizing that nurturing young talent in an environment of accountability and inspiration is crucial for collective success.

Looking forward, our goals for Atmosphere are ambitious. We aspire to not only participate in the African corporate real estate market but to lead and innovate, continually pushing boundaries and redefining industry standards. Our vision extends beyond geographic boundaries, aiming to diversify and innovate within the corporate real estate realm.

This adventure has been a journey of successes and challenges, each moment invaluable. I am thankful for every lesson, relationship, and growth opportunity. Anticipating the future, I am excited for the unfolding chapters of Atmosphere, ready to approach them with the same passion and determination that have guided us thus far.
