Investec Property Fund has officially become the Burstone Group, following shareholder approval for the name change in late August 2023 and the finalisation of all legal requirements.
The company is now trading as Burstone Group and its ticker symbol on the JSE has been changed to ‘BTN’ to reflect its new name.
“Burstone represents our inspiring story of transformation. It is about how we see the potential that lies within something and transform it into something of value. With our origins in the Investec Group, we are setting out on this journey with excitement about new opportunities as we look to leverage our existing businesses in South Africa, Europe, and Australia – but never forgetting our heritage,” said CEO of Burstone Group, Andrew Wooler.
The name change will also incorporate the rebranding of the Group’s European operations, previously trading as UREP (Urban Real Estate Partners), to the Burstone Group.
The name Burstone represents the company’s ambitions as an internationally focused real estate business, which through a dedicated partnership approach, can identify potential, deliver attractive returns for its investors, generate value for all stakeholders and pursue sustainable outcomes for the communities in which it operates.
“Our name change is just one element of our new positioning as an international real estate asset and funds management company with a capital-light strategy that provides access to broader capital markets,” said Wooler.
