SAPOA & COCGSA: Deliberating the state of challenges experienced by commercial property owners & tenants in SA

The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) are hosting a session to deliberate on the challenges experienced by commercial property owners and tenants in South Africa.

Over the past year, the challenges facing the commercial property sector has been exacerbated by the civil unrest, an increase in crime, natural disasters, and slow economic growth, which has reduced foot count in many shopping centres, in particular. These challenges have also placed a financial burden on property owners whose assets cannot be covered by insurance due to the country’s high-risk profile.

The topics to be covered in the session include:

  • Property being uninsurable due to SA’s high-risk profile.
  • Sustainability initiatives – power, water, packaging waste and waste in general.
  • Crime and risk initiatives.

Date: Monday, 12th September 2022, 11:00 – 12:30

Venue: CGCSA offices, 164 Katherine Street, Pinmill Farm Block D, Sandton
