Fortress REIT acquires third Polish logistics asset

MDC2 Park Łódź South in Poland.

Fortress REIT Limited has acquired its third logistics asset, MDC2 Park Łódź South, located south of Łódź in central Poland.

Driven by the demand to supply high-growth western European economies, the REIT’s first two signature acquisitions in Poland were in 2020 to deepen and extend its investment proposition.

The distribution centre will offer a leasable area of up to 80 000m2 of modern, sustainable logistics space with its completion planned for late 2023. 95% of the construction materials will be recyclable and the roofs of the buildings PV ready.

We are extremely happy to have acquired this asset, as it perfectly fits our strategic investment profile. MDC2 Park Łódź South will provide the highest standard for a modern big-box logistics facility and will include solutions addressing environmentally responsible as well as sustainable building features sought for by the tenants”, commented Maciej Tuszyński, Managing Director Europe at Fortress REIT Limited.

Steven Brown, CEO of Fortress REIT Limited also commented by saying: “Central and Eastern Europe remains one of the most exciting long-term logistics and warehousing investment propositions globally. Central and Eastern Europe’s geographic proximity and infrastructure-rich access to high-value Western European economies only deepens the need and growth opportunities for state-of-the-art logistics real estate in the region”.

The project’s strategic location and its exceptional quality planned by its developer, coupled with the financial strength and experience of Fortress REIT Limited will undoubtedly result in the commercial success of this venture,” concluded Tuszyński.
