The Youth in Property Association (YIPA) has announced a new sponsorship agreement with Liberty Two Degrees (L2D) which aims to increase active participation of the youth in the property sector.

The three-year sponsorship agreement will not only see L2D as YIPA’s headline sponsor, but in addition to the financial support, L2D will also provide strategic support to YIPA’s job shadow, internship, and networking initiatives to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.

At L2D, we remain committed to initiatives that drive genuine socio-economic participation and true transformation” says Amelia Beattie, Chief Executive of L2D. “Strengthening youth participation enables us to grow skilled labour and an entrepreneurial pool in the industry, which is very much needed. YIPA is an incredible organisation of young and passionate people which resonates soundly with our internal values around passion, accountability, care, and excellence and we look forward to taking this partnership forward to the betterment of the industry”.

Established in 2017, YIPA is focused on transforming the property sector by increasing the active participation of young people through its education, employment, and entrepreneurship initiatives. Today, YIPA has a network of over 2 000 members focused on representing, protecting, and advancing the interests of the association.

Commenting on the sponsorship deal YIPA Chairperson, Monedi Lefakane said; “I am elated to announce this partnership with L2D. Since the beginning of our engagements with Amelia Beattie and her entire team, YIPA has received an overwhelming amount of support both strategically and financially. It is not often that you find a sponsor that is 100% aligned with your values and is focused on building a long-term partnership that will result in tangible outcomes. We are grateful that we have found this in L2D and truly humbled by the belief they have shown us to make a difference in the sector.”

As a precinct focused, retail centred REIT that co-owns a quality iconic property portfolio of South African assets, L2D is a significant contributor to the South African property sector and understands the valuable role they play in communities. L2D is also committed to positively and ethically transforming the sector by creating an empowering culture that enables sustainable outcomes and meaningful opportunities for all South Africans – making this sponsorship a natural extension for purposeful and impact-based transformation.

We are particularly pleased that L2D’s contribution extends to YIPA’s internship programme where L2D will have an opportunity to attract some of South Africa’s most talented university students studying property-related degrees. We look forward to working with L2D to truly make a difference and drive strong active participation in the sector,” concludes Lefakane.
