Spear REIT Limited has announced the appointment of Dr Rozette Phillips, the company’s first female non-executive director.

Roze will guide Spear in its understanding of digital technology and the benefits it presents to Spear” commented Quintin Rossi, Spear REIT Limited Chief Executive Officer.
Dr Phillips holds the position of Management Consulting lead and Geographic Council member for Accenture Africa, and Board member of Accenture South Africa. She also serves as the Innovation lead, creating the enablers for innovation on the continent. Sje has over twenty years’ experience in consulting to consumer related industry clients across the value chain with the intent of driving better strategic and sustainable outcomes while transforming business and improving well being in Africa.
With the advent of digital technologies, Dr Phillipsm now assists public and private sector clients to unlock the business and societal value that can be created through utilising these digital technologies.
She is an exeecutive Sponsor and member of the Board of Trustees for BORN to SUCCEED, a Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to helping young South African women with the necessary skills and mentorship to prepare for the workplace and find employment.
Born in Cape Town, Roze holds an MBChB degree and an MBA degree from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Diploma in Futures Studies from the University of Stellenbosch. Prior to joining Accenture, she was a medical doctor at Groote Schuur Hospital and a specialist scientist at the SA Medical Research Council.
Commenting on Mrs Phillips appointment, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spear REIT Limited, Mr Abu Varachhia said: “A detailed and diligent process was followed to source a suitable non-executive director that would complement the current Board of Directors of Spear as well as enhance the boards abilities to execute on its mandate from shareholders. Roze joins the Spear board with a wealth of knowledge and expertise as the first female non executive director on the board.
