JLL Sub Saharan Africa announced today the launch of an award that seeks to showcase the most progressive and innovative interpretation of the latest workplace developments and strategies in southern Africa. The 2017 Future Workplace Award will recognise and reward work environments that meet the needs of the business while engaging, empowering and fulfilling employees.
Stuart Williams, head of JLL Workplace and Technology Solutions Sub Saharan Africa comments: “We want to draw attention to the global move towards work environments that involve and enable current and future employees to be their best. While international research emphasises the importance of creating engaging work spaces, many corporates have yet to embrace this. We want to reward those that have and encourage those that have not, to follow suit”.
Williams points to research out of Harvard University, ‘”We know productivity can be compromised by poor air quality, low light and constant noise distractions. These are the conversations we want people to have.”
The concept for the competition was first launched by JLL Netherlands in 2013 and will be presented for the first time in South Africa in July 2017. Contenders should put forward workplaces that facilitate a good work / life balance with emphasis on improved efficiencies and productivity.
The winner of the 2017 Future Workplace Award will receive a Workplace Strategy including a bespoke sensor utilisation study of the winning company’s boardrooms and a Workplace Experience Survey valued at R130’000.
The launch of these awards coincides with the the launch of JLL SSA Workplace & Technology Solutions, a new service line dedicated to ensuring companies are using data, predictive analytics and technology to its full advantage. JLL is a global leader in in this space and is the first African real estate services provider to bring this service into the continent.
Williams is excited to provide this capability across Sub Saharan Africa. “We use innovative tools and analysis to foster productivity and collaboration as well as proactively manage occupancy costs.
