With a number of corporates, institutions, firms and professional services setting up shop within Menlyn Maine, South Africa’s first purpose-developed green mini-city, is rapidly becoming the business address of choice within the Pretoria region.

Retha Schutte, Pam Golding Properties regional executive: Pretoria, says that Menlyn Maine was originally conceived as a new growth node and business centre within the region, and, with corporates, businesses, financial institutions and organisations clamouring to obtain office and retail space within the precinct, it is already proving to be exceptionally popular.

“Pam Golding Properties soon saw that the impressive Menlyn Maine development would be the perfect location for our regional headquarters in Pretoria and an address most befitting our brand. Consequently, some time ago, we made a decision to relocate our Pretoria headquarters to the precinct, a move that we completed last October to coincide with the opening of Central Square”.

“We now have attractive and spacious offices overlooking Central Square from which all our operations in the greater Pretoria region are directed,” adds Schutte.

“Our move to Central Square forms part of a Pam Golding Properties accelerated growth strategy in the region, which has meant that we have increased the size of our expert sales team significantly in recent months, and we aim to build it to more than 100 agents this year”.

“In this way, we are positioning ourselves to harness growth opportunities in the region and ensuring we are able to provide clients with the most comprehensive residential property services possible into the future. Pam Golding Properties Pretoria region enjoyed a record year in 2016, and we are looking to extend our dominance in the local residential property market this year”.

“As a consequence, we would like to invite Pretoria’s leading property agents to contact us with a view to joining our outstanding team, which services the length and breadth of the region,” she says.

“Pam Golding Properties is tremendously excited to be a resident within one of the most innovative urban development projects in South Africa, as well as involved in the marketing of the Menlyn Maine residential development, which is known as the Triology Collection. The residential component will consist of some 500 state-of- the-art apartments, the first phase of which we put to market late last year and they have been selling exceptionally well.”

“The development of Menlyn Maine is unfolding at a breath-taking pace with Nedbank, SAGE VIP, BMW, and the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), to name just a few, having developed, or still constructing, state-of- the-art office and mixed-use buildings, and leading corporates and professional firms are now all looking to obtain an exclusive office space within the precinct.”

“Our move to Menlyn Maine not only places us firmly within Pretoria’s glittering new business centre, but also within an extremely central location and hub from which we can easily conduct business throughout the Pretoria region”.

Schutte points out that the precinct also places every amenity, including restaurants, boutique outlets, exercise facilities, conference facilities and entertainment centres at the fingertips of staff and management. “Needless to say, Menlyn Maine is proving a highly energising new location for our new office,” she adds.

For the commuter, Menlyn Maine offers a premium location, with easy access to all public transport, including Gautrain and BRT bus systems and the N1 motorway via Garsfontein and Atterbury roads. All of the buildings in the precinct are required to achieve a minimum of a Four-Star Green Star rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) and one of the benefits is that tenants enjoy a high degree of energy efficiency.

Pam Golding Properties was involved in Menlyn Maine almost at the outset having assisted in the purchase and assembly of 108 stands in Waterkloof Glen Ext 2 between 2006 and 2007, after which construction of the mini-city could commence.

“We were impressed with the plans for this green, mixed-use development and saw that Menlyn Maine was going to be a business location that strongly resonated with our brand,” notes Schutte.

“Not only do we share a history with the development, but we strongly identify with the developers’ vision for this new growth node, as well as their green agenda. This mixed-use development is much needed within our region and we have every confidence that it will go from strength to strength into the future,” she concludes.
