Zevenwacht Lifestyle Estate offers great options for over-50s in a beautiful setting

Multi-Spectrum Property (MSP) has just relaunched its brand, and now as well as its award-winning developments offers full-spectrum property solutions, including residential and commercial rentals and sales and advice. Zevenwacht Lifestyle Homes consists of 101 large freestanding residential retirement dwellings offering six different options. The average plot size is 500 m² (with some up to 800 m2), and the dwellings range in size from 153 m² to 266 m². All have two or three bedrooms and two or three bathrooms, with open-plan kitchens with access to a yard, and large lounge/dining areas with choice of a gas vent-free fireplace or mild steel wood-burning fireplace, that open onto a covered patio area with 1200 mm undercover braai, and landscaped garden. All properties include access to high-speed fibre-optic internet, and a selection of upmarket floor finishes is available, including porcelain tiles and vinyl laminate.

The kitchens feature Franke Nouveau double sinks, upmarket ovens, hobs and extractors (a few options are available, including gas), from a range including Defy, Siemens and Miele, as well as granite kitchen tops. Bathroom and kitchen taps are all by Grohe. Entry-level properties have single garages and the others a double garage. These homes are priced from R3m to R5.3m.

Two small-breed pets are permitted per household; however, in keeping with retirement village regulations no erven will or may be fenced, although hedges will be planted to separate them. The estate maintains the hedges and public spaces, as well as cutting all lawns. Residents’ flower and veggie beds may also be looked after for an additional fee.

All residents of Zevenwacht Lifestyle Estate enjoy full access to the Zevenwacht Lifestyle Estate Clubhouse (which allows venue hire), with its library, lounge and bar area, as well as a receiving a Patronage Card offering discounts at Zevenwacht Wine Estate, which offers a restaurant, wine-tasting, conference facilities, tennis courts, sauna and spa.

The grounds of Zevenwacht Lifestyle Estate include dams that may be fished, and green open spaces for walks and picnics. Fish eagles are regularly spotted there.

Residents also receive Call4Care 24-hour monitoring, health and emergency alert services, clinic services once a week if required, and the option of five days per year (per unit) respite care in the Zevenwacht Care Centre at no additional charge. Residents of Zevenwacht Lifestyle Homes may also make use of (at a charge, where applicable) the dining, catering facilities, lounges, laundry and cleaning services offered by Zevenwacht Care Services.

All Lifestyle Homes and independent living units are fitted with solar geysers.

For those who wish for smaller accommodation and more care, Zevenwacht Lifestyle Apartments offers 54 independent living units, with one-bedroom apartments and bedsitters of 42 m2 with a 5 m2 balcony, each with an allocated parking bay, with care close at hand via the Zevenwacht 1100 m² Care Centre. Prices start from R950 000.

The apartments are ideal for those who may be in need of daily assistance with bathing, bed making, dressing and so on, but are able and wish to live somewhat independently.

Included in the levy for Zevenwacht Apartments Estate residents are 16 meals per unit per month, served in the community facility dining room on a pre-booking system, morning and afternoon tea served in the community facility, weekly personal laundry (5 kg bag washed and ironed), weekly washing and ironing of linen, towels, etc. (5 kg), weekly housekeeping, including cleaning materials and equipment. In terms of care, each resident’s needs are assessed, but included are the Call4Care monitoring and emergency alert services, clinic services once a week, daily wellbeing checks, and 5 days per year (per unit) respite care in the Care Centre, subject to availability.

The Zevenwacht 1100 m² Care Centre also looks after social and other care – with not only a dining hall but also a library, lounge facilities where residents can get together, braai facilities and covered balconies with great views. Zevenwacht Care Services will look after all the residents’ needs, from arranging taxis to hairstylists, at individual choice and to their cost.

Whether buying in Zevenwacht Lifestyle Homes or Zevenwacht Lifestyle Apartments, all care needs are catered for and each resident’s needs are evaluated.

There has been lots of attention to security, with CCTV- and access-controlled entrances with licence disc scanning at Zevenwacht Lifestyle Homes to ensure that each visitor entering the estate is accounted for. Residents will have hassle-free movement in and out of Zevenwacht Lifestyle Homes via a wifi tag fitted to their car which opens the residents’ gates automatically.

Security guards roam the estate around the clock, and each dwelling includes a 24-hour emergency and healthcare response system. There is also ID and biometrics to regulate staff entry. The entire development is surrounded by palisade steel fencing and a mixture of palisade and brick walls, with 6- and 9-strand electrified fencing along the top.

The natural beauty of the Cape Winelands is irresistible, and the estate also offers panoramic views of Table Mountain, Table Bay and False Bay.
