XtraSpace adds to PMB investment with FlexiOffice development

Pietermaritzburg has joined the office space revolution with the launch of XtraSpace’s FlexiOffice development in an upmarket estate that includes a golf course.

“Collaborative or serviced workspaces are becoming an increasingly popular option for entrepreneurs and businesses,” says Abri Schneider, CEO of XtraSpace, national provider of flexible space solutions. “Technology has changed the way we work and enabled a flexible way of working that breaks free of the nine-to-five mentality.”

XtraSpace’s FlexiOffice offering is at the forefront of this transformation in South Africa by not only offering flexible workspaces for individuals and teams but also storage space for entrepreneurs and even a courier service to handle the distribution requirements of its customers.

“XtraSpace’s newest FlexiOffices are located at the Victoria Country Club Estate in Montrose. This location offers tenants the ideal combination of attractive natural surroundings and quick access to downtown Pietermaritzburg. The offices are furnished and serviced, and range in size from one-person offices to spaces suitable for teams,” explains the company’s chief operating officer, Colleen Mansour. “The estate even has a golf course!”

The addition of the Montrose FlexiOffice to its Pietermaritzburg offering, which already includes self-storage facilities in Mkondeni and Willowton, is a demonstration of XtraSpace’s commitment to the economic growth of KwaZulu-Natal’s capital city, home to over 600 000 residents.

As Schneider says, the company is confident about the local economy and has given life to this confidence by investing in tangible assets in the city, which is strategically situated in the middle of the transport corridor between Johannesburg and Durban.

“Maritzburg has a robust manufacturing economy that is involved in exporting products. Property and retail are booming. It’s also an agricultural hub and professionals in the city provide services to the Midlands,” says Schneider.“We absolutely believe that the positive economic environment will continue to attract investors and business, and we want to be part of the growth of this city by offering storage and office space solutions.”

As part of its launch offering, Montrose FlexiOffice is giving tenants the first month’s rental free, as long as they sign a minimum lease of three months. This offer is valid until April 2016.
