‘65 on Park’ completes Steyn City's residential offering

Steyn City Lifestyle Resort has entrenched its reputation as one of Johannesburg’s most desirable lifestyle residence with the release of 60 brand new sectional title units.

Dubbed ‘65 on Park’ in the suburb of Park Ridge, the units complete the resort’s residential offering by presenting a range of single- and double-storey cluster homes. Measuring 220m², and priced from R3,9 million, these units are both more compact and cost effective than some of the other houses on offer, making them ideal for starter families, newlyweds and empty nesters alike.

Steyn City Properties CEO Giuseppe Plumari explains that the cluster homes were launched in response to market demands. “The outstanding response to our launch earlier in the year – where 50% of Phase I’s freehold stands and 90% of the 93 apartments in the Show Village were sold out – proved to us that there is an enormous need for our product: a lifestyle underpinned by pedestrianised living, where family and security come first.”

Echoing Steyn City’s sales success to date, Dr Andrew Golding, CEO of Pam Golding Properties, commented on the past month’s sales which exceeded R100 million adding, “The sales figures for September are clearly indicative of the market’s keen appetite for a lifestyle product of this calibre. Listening to potential buyers will only serve to enhance the interest. It is without reservation the most exciting new development available in this region and buyers can appreciate the exceptional facilities on offer including the recently built world-class equestrian facility.”

Plumari adds that, in order to ensure that the development was able to continue to respond to market demands, the Steyn City Properties Management team invested a significant amount of time in analysing the results of the launch sales and subsequent months. This helped them determine the exact types of properties sought by potential buyers, and positions them to supply an appropriate product. The concept of 65 on Park was born out of this market research that indicated a need for young families starting out in life who don’t want the up-keep and associated running costs of a large property as well as empty nesters who require a freestanding property on a lock-up and go basis.

Bryan Charters, of Steyn City Architecture and Design (SCAD), notes that properties offered on 65 on Park share much in common with the rest of the development: there is enormous emphasis on creating a conducive living space that invites families outside, for example.

A terraced site has been created for these properties, with each street ending in a cul-de-sac. “This contributes to a tranquil, secluded atmosphere, as there is no through traffic,” Charters points out. This sense of peacefulness is further enhanced by the presence of greenbelts: each house looks onto a heavily treed area, while West-facing homes also enjoy views of Steyn City’s Nicklaus-design golf course.

The development also features its own parklands; and park users can easily walk to Mandela Park – one of the central ‘lungs’ of Steyn City – via a park link that runs from east to west throughout the lifestyle resort.

The homes offer three bedrooms, double lock-up garages, kitchens and separate sculleries, with dining room and lounge, as well as a guest bathroom with a separate entrance. Covered verandas with built-in braais make for attractive entertaining areas. Finishes like Hans Grohe taps and kitchens with fully integrated Miele appliances complete the accent on convenience and easy living. Although most of the units are double storeys, a few single-storey houses are available.

From an architectural point of view, mono-pitched roofs with exposed rafters and oversized aluminium sidings, cracked timber and lots of glass have helped to create a look reminiscent of a contemporary farmhouse.

“This is the ideal choice for people drawn to the attractiveness of the Steyn City lifestyle, but who long for lock-up-and-go simplicity,” Charters concludes.
