Oasis Retirement Estate generates a wealth of interest

With its sub-tropical climate, beautiful beaches, warm sea and quality of life, people have always been drawn to the KwaZulu-Natal coastline and still are – and retirees are no exception. As the burgeoning Northern coastal belt of the province continues to experience unprecedented growth, so we are finding that people are choosing to retire in this highly desirable area, says Carol Reynolds, Pam Golding Properties area principal in Durban, Durban North, La Lucia and uMhlanga.

“Umhlanga is growing at a rapid rate with the area stretching from Durban North to Umdloti indeed the latest hot-spot along the coast. There’s been a resurgence of developers moving back into the area, and we are inundated with development proposals.”

She says one such development that has generated a wealth of interest is Oasis Retirement Estate. This development is situated in uMhlanga just a few kilometres from the uMhlanga hospital and the new Gateway hospital, Gateway shopping centre, top-class hotels, the Umhlanga Village with its abundance of restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques, and of course, the beautiful promenade and beach.

“There are very few options available for retirees and those with frail care facilities are even more difficult to find, hence the demand for Oasis which offers 24 hour frail care, stepless living, 24 hour security and a community centre with small restaurant and swimming pool.

“The lifestyle offering is difficult to beat, given that uMhlanga is the most centrally situated and popular village in the coastal belt.”

The pet-friendly, freestanding homes at Oasis start at R1.55 million and studios, one, two and three bedroom options are available. There is also secure parking for owners and visitors.

Adds Reynolds: “With only 44 units available, due to the high demand we have already been reserving units prior to the official launch this month (August 2015).”
