To co-ordinate the efficient assessment and approval of property finance deals within the parameters of credit granting policy and risk processes such that the risk of bad debt is minimised, thereby contributing to profitable growth of the Nedbank Property Finance division.
Key Performance Areas:
Assess the risk & potential risk in business applications for new & additional lending: Contribution to the achieving of reducing Bad Debts, RAROC targets & Book Growth targets, through appropriate risk assessment decisions & advice on viability or re-structuring of deals.
Ensure that updated group exposure schedule and Basel template is submitted with credit application.
Evaluate financial statements, property asset risk & securities in relation to client’s total liability.
Analyse approvals & where necessary recommend appropriate changes to credit applications to add value to Nedbank and
To understand and make sense of risk in the property market.
To manage risk and derive the maximum risk and return scenario.
Support Compliance initiatives, especially FICA and FAIS programmes.
Support the implementation of Group, Cluster and Divisional credit projects, programmes and initiatives, especially Basel II.
Compiling and monitoring reports.
Manage risk by monitoring reports, including excess report, identifying potential risks and taking corrective action to ensure
Monitor covenant’s by obtaining latest financial information, measuring compliance and reporting breaches.
Sign off conditions of approval within required timeframes by checking the information called for.
Verify that security is in place by gathering all required information.
Ensure Nedbank Group Rating requirements are met, including Basel, and Moody’s, by reviewing accounts and identifying risks.
Compile client reviews.
Book Management & Special Projects and Assignments
Monitor credit quality of regional portfolios.
Regularly reviewed in terms of policy.
Deliver on special projects & assignments.
Provide support and advice to Relationship Managers.
Implement client / customer calling programme.
Contribute to education / training / coaching programmes for staff.
Train and develop in order to meet current and future business requirements.
Be part of a strong credit team which adds value to the business and assist each other.

Job Related Experience:
Experience within a Credit Risk environment in the Commercial and Industrial property market.
Basic knowledge of compliance requirements applicable to property finance, & an understanding of the impact that these have on the business operations of the Property Finance division, including Basel II requirements.
