The use of space was carefully considered and the indoor layout of the homes was designed so that residents experience a sense of freedom even behind closed doors. Privacy was yet another factor that was prioritised and will be optimised with landscaping between homes.

Comments Ryk Neethling, Marketing Director at Val de Vie Estate: “Life in one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa should be lived without restriction to the outdoors, and this is exactly the freedom that The Vines will offer its residents.”

Val de Vie – situated in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, under 40 minutes from Cape Town – forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom which is a proclaimed World Heritage Site. Further to the fact that residents will be able to enjoy the beauty that frames the estate, an extensive list of outdoor activities just beyond residents’ doors, beckon the exploration of the surroundings. From jogging alongside vineyards or fishing at the nine lakes that form part of the estate, to picnicking on the banks of the Berg River, which meanders along 4 km of Val de Vie’s border, residents are spoilt for choice.

Furthermore, those looking to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle will have access to fitness options including an outstanding fitness centre, tennis courts, full equestrian facilities and riding arena, two polo fields and an indoor swimming pool.

State-of-the-art security

Security features that contribute to the overall safety of the estate’s premises include biometric access, electric fencing, CCTV, on-site patrols and 40 thermal IP cameras that cover the entire perimeter. Bearing testimony to the level of security that has been implemented at the estate, the Val de Vie Polo House holds the title of the Safest House in Africa.

Neethling continues: “We are extremely particular about security at the estate and this, over and above the design of the homes, is a major factor that allows for such free and relaxed living – the way it should be.”
