A new 1,500sqm Woolworths Food store, plus a Woolworths Cafe, will open at Morningside Shopping Centre on 5 February 2015, adding to the tenant mix of this popular Sandton community shopping centre.
Morningside Shopping Centre is excited to welcome leading national retailer Woolworths to its tenant mix with the opening of a Woolworths Food store and Woolworths Cafe on Thursday, 5 February 2015.
The Woolworths difference comes to the Morningside Shopping Centre in a big way with the opening of a 1,500sqm Woolworths Food store, plus a Woolworths Cafe next to it on the Rivonia Road floor of the centre.
Morningside Shopping Centre is positioned at the heart of some of Sandton’s most affluent households, and offers an upscale, safe and enjoyable shopping experience tailored to its customers’ everyday shopping needs. The entry of Woolworths not only gives shoppers even greater choice of quality and convenient grocery shopping, but the inclusion of a Woolworths Cafe to the mix adds to the excellent array of restaurants and cafes already present at the centre.
“Woolworths is a big new addition to the centre and its opening has been highly anticipated by shoppers and the greater Morningside community. It will give shoppers even more daily shopping variety,” says a delighted Morningside Shopping Centre manager, Sharon Henry.
“Having a Woolworths Food store, plus a Woolworths Cafe is going to be wonderful for the centre and no doubt will increase its popularity.
“The Woolworths Cafe at the centre is going to be unique, as the first cafe in the country that will be separate from the actual food store. Morningside Shopping Centre is already a popular business and leisure meeting place for breakfast, lunch and dinner at one of our top notch eateries. Woolworths Cafe will be yet another hot option,” she adds.
The entry of Woolworths and other new stores such as Findings, Zui, Boutique Bellagio and Aeronautica Militare, enhances the centre’s retail mix and shopping experience. It has seen the centre also benefit from a strategic reshuffle of shops, to better locate them and create complementary retail nodes within the centre.
Morningside Shopping Centre, which is anchored by Pick n Pay, and now Woolworths, features 68 stores selected for their unique offering, quality products and personal service. The centre provides tailored shopping to the Morningside community and the loyal market that regularly pops into the centre on their daily commutes.
“Woolworths Food and Woolworths Cafe coming into the centre is not only great for shoppers, but the whole centre will benefit from increased foot traffic and trade,” says Henry.
Morningside Shopping Centre is co-owned and co-managed by Grapnel Property Group and Flanagan & Gerard Property Development and Investment.
