Ideal central Paarl home comes onto the market at a price of R5,850,000

Every now and then, says Lizette Joubert, the Rawson Property Group’s franchisee for Paarl, a property will come onto the market that is quite exceptional – and one such, she believes, is a five bedroom, four bathroom, 571 m2 family home right in the middle of Paarl but also on high ground on the east facing slopes of Paarlberg. This position, says Joubert, gives the home views of the Hottentot Hollands Mountains, the Berg River, many local vineyards and parts of the town itself.

“It is very unusual indeed for a home to be so close to the centre of town and yet to have such complete privacy, quiet and peace,” says Hesdarie Uys, the Rawson agent handling this sale in partnership with Annemie Kotze.

The attractive ambience of the property, she says, is enhanced by it having a very large 2,315 m2 plot and a well-established garden with tall trees and large shrubs.

The home is characterised by large living and dining areas which open out through full length wooden doors onto a wide stoep, which in turn leads onto a big swimming pool.

The home has Oregon pine floors covered with carpets in the living areas and a two bedroom flat at one end which is self-contained and has its own entrance. This flat can and currently does rent out at R5,000 per month. The property also has three garages.

Few homes, says Uys, could be better suited to those with large families.
