StatsSA Residential building statistics during the 1st half of 2014 have surprised “on the downside”, showing year-on-year decline for the year-to-date after some moderate growth for the years 2012 and 2013 as a whole.
This has taken place while FNB’s Estate Agent Survey has steadily pointed to increasing residential stock constraints in the existing home market. In addition, the square metreage of residential building plans passed has continued to rise in 2014 too.
