Consumers are likely to stick to habits which are familiar and common over the next several years – that is, until 2030. Beyond this, the next generation of shoppers will be more flexible in the retail channels with which they engage.
This is according to Peter Gold, Head of Cross Border EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Retail at CBRE who will address delegates at the South African Council of Shopping Centre’s (SACSC) 18th Annual Congress. The three-day event takes place in Cape Town next week and is set to provide invaluable insight into the latest consumer behaviour, trends and developments.
Gold says: “While online and mobile retail channels will become ever more prevalent, brick-and-mortar stores will still play a major role in delivering retail to consumers and will continue to do so well into 2050.”
