The V&A Waterfront’s newest residential development on Portswood Ridge perfectly meets the brief for those wanting to live in an urban-chic environment that also offers lock-up-and-go convenience.
V&A’s Ports Edge apartments will be released in three phases. The first phase launch will take place in March 2014 for occupation in June 2014.
Ports Edge makes it possible to rent attractive studio apartments within the V&A Waterfront for the first time.
According to David Green, CEO of the V&A Waterfront “This development is particularly exciting for us. Ports Edge caters to a younger professional market not yet committed to buying property, but nonetheless wanting a quality lifestyle in an exciting environment in which they can live, work and play. We want to attract long-lease tenants with a desire to live in the V&A Waterfront all year round.”
The apartments overlook the V&A’s New Basin, with Table Mountain as a backdrop. The immediate surroundings of the Portswood Ridge district offer a tranquil environment of cobbled stones, boutique hotels, cultural heritage sites and open green spaces, yet it is conveniently close to the CBD and is just a short walk from the heart of the Waterfront with its vibrant and eclectic mix of retail and entertainment.
Ports Edge will comprise 109 units varying in size from 30m2 to 100m2, and ranging from studio layout to apartments with one bedroom and one bathroom, and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The building itself is defined by generous lobby areas, spacious corridors and easy access.
Each apartment is characterised by an uncluttered open space with elegant elongated windows that maximise the views. The contemporary interior design of the kitchens and bathrooms are enhanced by cool colour tones and splashes of accent colours. Kitchens are installed with integrated appliances and all bathrooms are fitted with imported Hans Grohe sanitary ware.
In addition to its picture perfect location, urbanites can also count on the convenience of having 24-hour security, free Wifi and a host of leisure activities right on their doorstep.
Aside from the range of artisanal wares available at the V&A Market on the Wharf, and Cape Town’s first ever premium Pick n Pay store at the Victoria Wharf, there are over 80 restaurants and various taverns to choose from. A kaleidoscope of the very best local and international retailers cater for every conceivable retail desire, while a range of regular and external events offers endless entertainment opportunities.
Fitness fanatics have plenty to look forward to with a Kranking studio and Gym right downstairs, water sports on the canals, a 2.5km and a 5km running route that circles the V&A Waterfront, and a picturesque walking route along the V&A’s boardwalk on the water’s edge and which connects to the Mouille Point Promenade.
