Applications for the Nonkqubela Link Merit Award ran from the beginning of January 2014 and were open to 2013 Grade 12 learners from Bulumko Secondary School and Masiyile Secondary School. Both are in close proximity to the Nonkqubela Link Mall. The winning applicants demonstrated exceptional academic potential in their final matriculation results and had already applied and been accepted to tertiary institutions of their choice.
