For the third consecutive year Pam Golding Properties (PGP) has brought home the award for the Best Real Estate Agency South Africa (5 stars) at the International Property Awards recently held in Dubai. And for the second year PGP was also awarded the distinction of being judged the Best Real Estate Agency Africa, competing against other real estate agencies on the entire continent.
As winner on the African continent PGP now goes forward to compete against other 5 star winners in other regions of the world, namely Asia Pacific, Europe, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America, UK and USA, to determine the ‘World’s Best’ to be announced on 6 December 2013.
Since 1995, the International Property Awards have recognised excellence and the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry. They are acknowledged as ranking among the most prestigious accolades in the residential and commercial property industries. A high calibre jury of international experts identifies the most significant building projects as well as the highest quality real estate agencies.
The judging panel comprises approximately 70 professionals including Andrew Panting, director of operations for the British Property Federation; Peter Bolton King, global residential director of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and Christian Morris, director/owner of architectural firm Yotomo Ltd.
Commenting on the awards Dr Andrew Golding, CE of the Pam Golding Property group, says the achievement underscores the increasing global emphasis placed on high levels of professionalism and service, coupled with innovation, within the property industry. “Receiving these awards is recognition of PGP’s ongoing pursuit of excellent service and high innovation as we constantly aim to set benchmark standards for the industry.
“A requirement for entry to these awards is that it is based on one selected office within the organisation. This year we focused our entry on our high performing Cape Town Southern Suburbs office, which covers a multi-faceted market with an expansive range of properties and suburbs, from affordably priced apartments and cottages to larger family homes and sprawling luxury mansions.
“This well-positioned, sought after location incorporates diverse suburbs such as Thornton, Wynberg, Woodstock, Newlands, Kenilworth, Rondebosch, Claremont, Bishopscourt and Constantia, and includes some of the Western Cape’s top educational facilities. Prices of homes in the Southern Suburbs range from just R450 000 to R45 million, and among other top end sales successfully concluded by PGP in recent months are R26 million achieved for a home in Bishopscourt and R23.5 million for a home in Constantia Upper,” says Dr Golding.
PGP’s Southern Suburbs office is a flagship within the group and home to a number of longstanding agents, some of whom have worked for PGP for over three decades. The office covers a vast area from the eastern side of Table Mountain, spanning the suburbs from just above Table Bay to the edge of False Bay.
“While the entry focused on our Southern Suburbs office, the awards recognise numerous other aspects which all contribute to the ongoing success of the entire PGP group and its extensive network. These include a referral system which sees approximately 40 percent of sales originating through referrals, custom-designed IT and other technological innovations which create competitive advantages for the group both from a marketing and client communication perspective, and associations with select organisations such as the Southern Africa Luxury Association, the Luxury Network and ARC (Association of Residential Communities),” adds Dr Golding.
