The Pavilion Shopping Centre in Westville, Durban, announced it has appointed Nisha Kemraj as General Manager of this super-regional shopping centre in KwaZulu-Natal from 1 July 2013.
Kemraj has over 13 years of property management practice, unique insight into retail in KwaZulu-Natal and hands-on experience of shopping mall management during development and refurbishment projects. She holds a B. Compt. from Unisa as well as certified qualifications from both the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) and South African Property Owners Association of South Africa (SAPOA).
Prior to joining The Pavilion Shopping Centre, Kemraj was a retail Portfolio Manager at Old Mutual Property, where she has also gained extensive experience in different positions over the past dozen years.
Carmen Collison, MD of Motseng Property Services, property managers for The Pavilion says: “Kemraj’s excellent qualifications and unmatched experience made her the stand-out choice for General Manager of The Pavilion Shopping Centre.”
Collison explains that Kemraj replaces Anton Dekker, who contributed much to the mall’s management team. “We thank Anton for his service and wish him well in his future endeavours,” says Collison.
Kemraj is eager to take over the reins at The Pavilion Shopping Centre: “As one of South Africa’s largest and most respected shopping malls, The Pavilion shopping centre has a rich history of retail excellence. I am excited to be part of continuing and where possible improving this first-rate experience for our new generations of shoppers and retailers.”
The Pavilion Shopping Centre is one of South Africa’s foremost super-regional shopping centres with a wide-ranging retail mix of 220 stores. 2013 marks its 20th year of delivering an exceptional shopping experience to its loyal customers. This leading mall recently announced it would undergo a R228 million redevelopment. The initial phase of this project began last month. The exciting redevelopment will expand and improve The Pavilion’s retail tenant mix, add more family entertainment, improve access and create more parking. All this will serve to maintain The Pavilion’s position as an iconic retail and entertainment centre.
