Ekurhuleni calling on local business community to tap into opportunities brought by the Aerotropolis

As businesspeople and investors from large global corporations worldwide prepare to jet out to the Airport Cities Conference (ACE) to be hosted for the first time in Africa this April, the City of Ekurhuleni is calling on the local business community to tap into the opportunities brought by the Aerotropolis.

The City is set to host a two-day Aerotropolis Business Consultative Conference where local business will familiarise itself with the concept of the Aerotropolis in order to determine ways in which various businesses can leverage on the opportunities presented by the Aerotropolis.

The Conference, according to the member of the mayoral committee on Economic Development, Clr Bennet Nikani will facilitate strategic partnerships with public and private stakeholders, because while the Aerotrpolis has a global appeal, it must also be clear that local business has an enormous opportunity to invest in the Aerotropolis.

“We are determined to attract new domestic investment and to establish a strategic partnership with organised and general business in Ekurhuleni through the establishment of an Economic Advisory Steering Committee to drive the Ekurhuleni Aerotropolis programme,” Clr Nikani said.

It is expected that the conference will comprise of small, medium and large corporations such as developers, practitioners in the freight and logistics and development finance institutions amongst many others.
