Sandton City and Gateway Theatre of Shopping claimed top honours at South African Council of Shopping Centre (SACSC) Spectrum Awards which honour achievements in innovation, creativity, vision and excellence in the South African retail industry.
Sandton City’s Repositioning Phase 1 shone brightest in the Retail Design and Development Award (RDDA) category for the (SACSC) Spectrum Awards 2012
“The awards provide the opportunity for winners to receive national recognition through their achievements. Spectrum Award winners have already made it through the hotly contested regional and category rounds of the competition,” says Amanda Stops, SACSC CEO. “They have delivered truly stellar performance to outshine an excellent pool of entries.”
Sandton City’s Repositioning Phase 1 shone brightest in the Retail Design and Development Award (RDDA) category. “This project was selected as best-of-the-best from all the Retail Design and Development Award winners in recognition of the most outstanding achievement across all the RDDA categories,” says Stops.
The project, which created the dazzling Protea Court at Sandton City, was developed by Sandton City co-owners Liberty Group Limited & Pareto (Pty) Ltd, with architects MDS Architecture and MMA Architects.
Gateway Theatre of Shopping was the superstar in the Shopping Centre marketing Excellence Award category for its ‘Right Royal Affair’ campaign. “This promotion was selected from all the Gold Footprint Marketing Winners as the sweeping winner, recognising the overall excellence in the industry,” says Stops.
Gateway Theatre of Shopping is owned by Old Mutual Properties and its marketing agency is Primedia Lifestyle.
